“Yeah, but… I am just teaching because it is practical. You know that. I can’t do anything else, and I am good with kids. So, I do this. It’s easy. And I can find a job.” Quinn said with a shrug. She had always wanted something more, but as she had told her sister before, she didn’t love anything. She hadn’t love anything since… well since him. The thing about Quinn was, she was quick to give affection, and often, people misunderstood that. All the girl really wanted was to be loved, and to find someone to trust. However, between her parents, and the man that can’t be named, that had become a fallacy to Quinn. She knew that nobody was to be trusted ever again. Especially a male.
A little light bulb went off in Quinn’s head just then. “Carson, you want a bigger apartment. I want an apartment period.” Flashing a smile in her friends direction, she held her right hand out to shake Carson’s. “What do you say? Roommates?” Quinn asked, hoping her friend would say yes. Out of all the people in the world, Quinn trusted her sisters, and Carson, the most. Even Carson, Quinn had a tendency to get weary of, but the fact that this girl saved her life always won out in the end. Quinn knew Carson would never hurt her. “It could be fun. We’d, at the very least, always have someone to come home to and share our days with. And you wouldn’t have to trek across the city to borrow my clothes.” Quinn shoved Carson playfully, laughing a bit.
“I am sure you could do something else if you wanted. I mean hell you could probably throw some kick as parties. You’ve got the really good eye for things like that. Totally could make it a job,” Carson sipped at her glass as she listened to Quinn talk. The idea of the girl being her roommate didn’t sound half bad. They got along great and Carson was pretty sure that having someone other then her cat around would be nice. Seeing as now she just had Baby to talk to. And as cute as the little fir ball was. She really didn’t offer good conversation. “I think that is an awesome idea. I mean I love stealing your clothes and this would make it that much easier.” she gave the blond a grin. “This will be fun.. we can go look at places and decorate. Okay I am now more excited about getting a new place now,” honestly she hadn’t been looking forward to it on her own. It was half the reason she was still in her old place. She was way too used to it. And finding a new one was always a big head ache. “You know Nathaniel; He said he has a few really nice places he could get me the number of. So we can start with that,” she added happily.
“Oh Carson..” Quinn laughed and rolled her eyes. “Nothing exciting ever happens to little ol’ Quinnie, don’tcha know.” she said, faking her best Minnesota accent and sending them both into giggles. Dying down, she took more of her pizza, politely chewing and swallowing before speaking again. “I, since that dreadful day we don’t speak about, have not had an exciting day. And as long as my days do not end like that, I am glad to lead an unexciting life.” she nodded, punctuating the sentence and ending that conversation. When they spoke about that night, it was almost cryptic. It was not something Quinn needed to remember. She spent enough nights crying herself to sleep because of it, and enough nights getting drunk with Carson in hopes that her attempted black outs would make her forget it.
“I did get my grades though, and I of course passed with flying colors. Next semester I only have to take two classes and student teach for 15 hours a week! I am pretty excited about it. I haven’t been placed yet, but it should be good.” she shrugged and took her wine glass in her hands. Carson’s job always sounded so glamorous to Quinn. She wished she could have had a job like that, planning these elaborate parties and weddings. As of now, Quinn couldn’t have an unpredictable schedule. She needed to know when her classes were, when her job was, and what time she had to study. It was all a part of the OCD she had developed since the incident. ‘What about you? How have things been in your life?”
Carson could hold in the laughter at the accent Quinn chose to make her statement in. Shaking her head at her friend as she spoke. Her smile weakened a bit as she brought up the night neither of them chose to speak of. It was really for the better there was no need to bring it back up. It was done and thats all that mattered. “Well you never know tonight could have been different,” she stated with a slight nod as she took another bit of her pizza. She smiled wider as Quinn talked about school. It really did make her happy that the blond was planing on doing something good with her life. She wasn’t at all envious since Carson had long since learned that the whole school thing wasn’t for her. And she never once felt like she was missing out. She had a GED so it wasn’t like she was a total loss. But her job really didn’t require much educational background.
“That’s awesome quinn,” she chimed with a smile. “You’ll be teaching in no time,” she added raising her glass to her friend a bit. “You may not have an overly exciting life but you still have pretty awesome goals,” Carson finished off her glass and grabbed the bottle to pour another. “Life has been good.. work is good.. I am thinking about looking for a new place though.. I think my wardrobe is out growing my loft. It might be time for something bigger,” she replied lightly as she leaned back in her spot. She had been in her loft for about four years now. And it had always been home. No matter what she made it seemed like enough. But lately she just wanted somewhere a little nicer to call home.
Happy Carson was coming over, Quinn started to clean up her tiny apartment. Judy was paying for it at the moment, though Quinn was waiting for the day she was sober enough to figure it out and get cut off. Still, the blonde was enjoying it at the moment. She grabbed the clothes hung over the arm of her couch and tossed them into the hamper. After that, she made her way to the kitchen to wash some dishes. She started humming Adele’s Someone Like You and before long, it turned into Quinn belting it into her kitchen, which had surprisingly good acoustics.
The knock on the door was just loud enough to break through her one woman show she was putting on, now doing some ballet moves on the tiled floor. Swinging the door open she saw her friend and the pizza man coming up behind her. “Well hello to you both.” she pulled Carson’s arm to bring her inside and handed her 20 to the pizza guy. Bringing the pizza inside, Quinn kicked the door closed and place it on the counter. After she gave Carson a quick hug, Quinn grabbed plates and put a couple pieces on each while Carson dug around for the corkscrew and popped the wine open. She handed the brunette glasses before bringing their pizza to the coffee table. “So, how was your event? What was it tonight?” Quinn asked as the girl came into the living room and Q bit into a piece of pizza.
Carson smiled as the door was pulled open. Glancing behind her at the pizza guy before walking in to the apartment with Quinn. She didn’t waste any time before going and finding the corkscrew and popping open their first bottle of the night. Carson knew they would make their way through both of them before they passed out which she had absolutely no problem with Pouring them both a glass. The brunette followed her friend in to the living room. Taking a seat as she tucked her hair behind her ears. She set both glasses down on the coffee table taking a small sip from hers before turning her attention to the blond. Letting a warm smile slip on to her lips as Quinn spoke.
“It was great!” she chimed. “It was a charity banquet for a multitude if causes,” It wasn’t a completely lie seeing as she had gone to a banquet. But Carson kept the exact details of her job from the girl in front of her. She knew enough about Quinn to know that she would not approve of what she did. Which was why for all her friend knew. Carson planed the parties. “Everything turned out really nice and the client was more then happy with the turn out.. And I got to wear a killer dress and fuck me heels so it was totally worth it,” she added with a grin as she moved to take a bite of her pizza. “How was your night? Any thing exciting happen?” she asked as she washed her food down with a healthy gulp of wine.
It was a rare occasion that Carson actually had a night off. She usually had most of her days free. Seeing as the need for an “Escort” was a lot less in the light hours. Though there were occasions when she was requiered to be arm candy for some big shot here and there. But this was not the time to think about it. She was going to relax have a few glasses of wine, eat some pizza and catch up with her favorite blond. Quinn Fabray had become a rather good friend. One of the only people that got that title in Carson’s life. The brunette was social and she generally made a pretty good impression. And one could say she had a good number of friends. But Quinn was kind of a confidant now.
Ever since their interesting fiasco . Carson kind of felt responsible for making sure the other girl was okay. It was kind of an protectiveness it came to her friend. Not to mention they had a lot of things in common. They had similar interests and taste in clothing. Hell Q was pretty much her shopping soul mate. The thought made her chuckle as she pulled in to the parking lot of Q’s place. Grabbing the two bottles wine she had picked up on her way and headed up. Slipping in behind another tenant she made her way to the door letting her knuckles tap against the wood lightly. Chewing on her lip as she waited for the girl to answer.
